The patterns used in the West at Heart Mittens and the accompanying Hat are derived from traditional stranded work motifs. My maternal grandmother was raised in the Willamette Valley in Oregon and there’s a part of me that has a great affinity for the American West. You might say that I am very much “west at heart.”
